A meet-cute trapped in an elevator? YES, PLEASE! Throw in opposites attract, an age gap, and a whirlwind romance, and I’m sold! Nate might be a little uptight, but he’s the greenest of green flags, and I absolutely adored him. Juliet, on the other hand, was a bit too “woe is me” for my liking. Girl, you’re amazing! OWN IT! Thankfully, she starts to figure that out along the way.
I wasn’t entirely sold on the weird rivalry between Juliet and her twin sister. Maybe it’s all about perspective, because my sister and I are Irish twins, and we’ve had some MEGA sibling rivalry over the years. This felt pretty mild in comparison. But hey, if your sister really was being a dick, I’m glad she got sunburnt. The rest of the family? AMAZEBALLS. Especially Nate’s! The way they immediately embraced Juliet and had her back the very first time they met her? LOVE THAT. We need more families like this in romance!
What I really appreciated about Nate and Juliet’s relationship was how they helped each other rediscover their passions and find the courage to move their lives in directions that actually made them happy. Their romance might have been a whirlwind, but the positive impact they had on each other felt genuine. And of course, I’m always here for a happily-ever-after!
Now, let’s talk narration. Gregory Salinas was FANTASTIC, but honestly, when is he not? He’s easily one of my favorite male narrators. Stephanie Rose was an absolute joy as Juliet, and I really enjoyed her performance… EXCEPT when she voiced Nate. Girl, I’m sorry, but I was cringing! 😂 This audiobook was practically begging for DUET narration instead of DUAL.
Overall, a sweet, fun, feel-good romance with a swoon-worthy MMC, entertaining family dynamics, a little personal growth, and an HEA that left me smiling!
