Thank you to the author and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This feels like a series best read in order. There are several established relationships that would likely carry more weight with prior context, and jumping in here does come with spoilers for the earlier book.

That said, the cast of characters is lively and engaging. Mrs. B is a standout, and I enjoyed the dynamic of the women leading the charge while the men take more of a backseat.

The story itself is creative, and the dialogue is fun, but it felt overly long. At nearly 400 pages, there were moments that dragged or repeated, and I think the book would have been stronger in the 250–300 page range.

Beautiful cover, entertaining premise, and a solid mystery, but the pacing could have been much tighter.
