Slay Ride

Slay Ride
By Lauren Biel
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨

Another book that absolutely slayed by Lauren Biel.

While this one connects to Sinners Retreat, it shifts focus to two of the original supporting characters: Cat and Bennet. And honestly? Their relationship ended up being the highlight for me.

I think Sinners Retreat was still my overall favorite, but Slay Ride delivered a more emotionally engaging romance. It’s a slow burn built on insecurity, vulnerability, and two people who genuinely don’t believe they deserve each other.

Cat is terrified of judgment. Bennet is convinced he isn’t good enough for Cat. Somehow, in the middle of all the chaos and murdery nonsense, it turns into something weirdly sweet and surprisingly relatable.

Also, if I were a serial killer (which, to clarify, I am not), this freezing retreat situation would absolutely not be for me. The weather alone would’ve had me tapping out immediately. Honestly, the organizers should probably consider a warmer venue because way too much went wrong thanks to the cold.

I really loved seeing Cat grow into herself throughout the story, and Bennet encouraging her to explore who she is beyond everyone else’s expectations. And no, before anyone asks, I am NOT referring to the turkey leg scene. In fact, I’d like to erase the turkey leg from my memory entirely.

Needless to say, Biel has me hooked because I already bought books 3 and 4.
