This is my fourth trip to Juniper Springs, and while this installment has the highest ratings in the series on both Goodreads and Audible, it just wasn’t the right fit for me. That said, I’ll absolutely be continuing with book five.

The romance (or estranged romance) was front and center, but I found myself frustrated with both characters for most of the story. The two central mysteries, the death and the kidnapping, also left me feeling more exasperated than intrigued.

And poor Nancy. Heaven forbid a genuinely kind woman simply try to do something nice.

Tiffany Vanlandingham continues to be a pleasure to listen to. She has a smooth, engaging narration style that makes the audiobook easy to settle into, even when the story itself didn’t fully work for me.

Overall, this wasn’t my favorite in the series, but I’m still invested enough in Juniper Springs to see where the story goes next.
