This story was so chaotic, but like… in the best way possible.
You will suspect EVERY. SINGLE. PERSON. There is just no way not to. Unless, of course, they d!e before you get around to considering them. ๐
To celebrate a few birthdays, a whole lot of people… I think like 10, plus some kids… head to an island that one of them used to own. What could possibly go wrong?
Apparently, EVERYTHING.
A game night goes sideways, tensions start rising, secrets begin spilling, and the number of people on the island starts going down, down, down.
And the best part? NO ONE IS LIKEABLE. ๐ Everyone has secrets. Everyone has baggage. Everyone gives you a reason to side-eye them. I kept changing my mind about who I suspected and what the heck was actually happening.
By the end, everyone’s dirty laundry has been aired, plenty of damage has been done, and the conclusion is… happy adjacent for some and decidedly less happy for others.
The narration was lovely! Clare Corbett did an INCREDIBLE job, especially considering the sheer number of recurring characters she had to distinguish throughout the story.
If you like isolation thriller-type mysteries with messy people, buried secrets, a huge suspect pool, and absolute chaos, this one is worth checking out.
