📖 Blood and Bells
📚 Hexes and Holidays, Book 1
✍️ C.J. Holmes & Michael Ashwood
⭐️⭐️⭐️✨
This was such a fun ride. Holiday-fantasy-romance-comedy? There’s a little something for nearly everyone here.
The character dynamics were probably my favorite part, especially the disdain everyone seems to have for different types of beings. Whether they’re pesky, not worthy of a battle, or (GASP!) have a thirst for blood, there’s plenty of supernatural judgment to go around.
Then we have Nick and Holly, serving up an enemies-to-lovers dynamic that really shouldn’t work… but absolutely does. Their relationship adds just the right amount of romance to all the holiday chaos.
The story delivers exactly what it promises: small-town charm, vampire mischief, plenty of humor, and by the end, Christmas has been saved. That’s an HEA if there ever was one. 🎄🧛❤️
My one very specific gripe: There was a “Desperately Seeking Susan” reference, and I was SO excited because it’s one of my favorite movies. But then Brooke Shields was mentioned and… NOOOO. That’s “Suddenly Susan,” the TV show, not the iconic Madonna movie. 😂
