Very rarely do I finish a book thinking both, “What the f*ck did I just read?” AND “That was a freaking delight!” But “Kill to Love” somehow managed to accomplish exactly that.

I’ve previously said dystopian isn’t really my jam, but apparently all I needed was a dystopian world filled with absurd humor, unhinged characters, and a man completely obsessed with finding his “soulmate.” While you definitely need to understand the state of this very messed-up world, the story really centers on Dig and his increasingly ridiculous pursuit of Delphine. And honestly? I was along for the ride.

The best way I can describe this book is a completely bizarre hodge-podge of vibes: “The Hunger Games” meets “Saturday Night Live” meets “(500) Days of Summer” meets “Edward Scissorhands.” Does that combination make sense? Probably not. Does it somehow perfectly describe my reading experience? YES.

And the narration?! I’m officially obsessed with Annabelle Tudor. She absolutely nailed the humor, personality, and sheer absurdity of this story. Dominic Gruenewald and Jacob Morgan were fantastic additions to the cast as well, making an already wildly entertaining book even more fun to listen to.
