Not a shifter romance. Apparently I was just DEEP in my paranormal era when I requested this one because I went in fully expecting Noah to turn into an animal at some point. 😂

“Wild About You” may have a cute pink cover and plenty of romance, but underneath it is a story about two people carrying some pretty significant emotional scars. Cassie and Noah don’t always handle those scars particularly well, but I loved watching them work through their individual struggles and eventually find their way to each other. Cassie’s ex was absolutely DEPLORABLE, and after the emotional abuse she endured, I wouldn’t have blamed her if she’d sworn off men forever. Noah’s struggles were a little harder for me to connect with, but I was very glad to see therapy become part of his journey.

I also really enjoyed the animal shelter and veterinary clinic elements. They gave Cassie and Noah something meaningful to connect over outside of the very obvious attraction between them. My one personal nitpick? As someone who works on actual professional fundraisers, I had to laugh at how easy Cassie made fundraising seem. Girl… especially in a small town, it is NOT that simple. 😂

And then there’s Emma Wilder. NO ONE is going to convince me there wasn’t secretly a man in that recording booth voicing Noah. Her range is absolutely incredible. She gave Cassie and Noah such distinct voices that I genuinely forgot at times I was listening to a solo narrator. Her performance added so much personality and emotion to the story.

Overall, a lovely romance about two imperfect people overcoming their circumstances, confronting their emotional scars, and finding something worth trusting again.
