🏎️ A fast-moving F1 romance with plenty of chemistry, emotional baggage, and a hero who seriously needed to give his girl a little more grace.

After finishing “Checkered Hearts,” I can firmly say I am #TeamNico… and maybe a little less #TeamRocco. 😂

Nico has a legitimately traumatic past, like DARK and heartbreaking, so there were definitely moments when I wanted to shake Rocco. Instead of giving her an ounce of grace, he jumps to the worst conclusions. Thankfully, he eventually gets his head out of the proverbial pit lane and comes to his senses.

This was my first sports romance centered around racing, and in true F1 fashion, this relationship goes from 0 to 100. 🏎️💨 They spend a good chunk of the book confused about their feelings, but once they finally give in? They are basically a full-fledged couple.

I also really enjoyed getting a romance set inside the world of racing. The F1 backdrop gave the story something different from the sports romances I usually pick up, and I’m curious to see where the “Racing to Romance” series goes next. I really hope it’s about Celeste & Dario.

🎙️ Charlotte Claremont and Anthony Palmini were fantastic. Even with the dual narration, the characters felt consistent as the story moved between chapters and narrators, which made the audiobook incredibly easy to settle into.
