The Foster Child

“The Foster Child” is a bingeable, mild domestic thriller that may not deliver what the synopsis promises, but still manages to keep you turning the pages.

Based on the description, I definitely feel like I was a little catfished by this one 😂, but the story I actually got intrigued me nonetheless. Everyone believes they’re the target, and while it becomes fairly clear to the reader who is really in danger, all the other secrets and situations make things increasingly convoluted—especially when some begin to connect.

There were sections that felt repetitive, and I wish the tension had started building sooner instead of waiting until Christmas Day to really kick into gear. Still, this was an enjoyable, quick read that I’d recommend to thriller readers who prefer their suspense on the milder side.
