Kiss Slay Replay

“Kiss Slay Replay” was such a ridiculously fun time-loop horror that I would actually read it AGAIN… and that’s saying something!

I’m two books into Rachel Harrison, and I think she can officially be added to my “if she writes it, I will buy it” list. Willa is trapped at a friend’s wedding, dying increasingly horrific (and increasingly ridiculous) deaths over and over again. And honestly? She was already going THROUGH IT before the dying started. She just left her partner, her friends are exhausted by her woe-is-me attitude, her ex brought a date, and her wedding crush might just be using her for sex.

I could not put this down as Willa endured one absurd battle after another while simultaneously trying to figure out how to escape the loop AND get herself out of the funk she’s been living in. The deaths just keep getting more unhinged, but underneath all the bloody chaos is a surprisingly relatable story about realizing that sometimes the thing keeping you stuck… is you.

And seriously, I would read this one again. HIGH praise from me.

Charlotte Lobdell absolutely matched the energy of this story. Her narration kept the increasingly chaotic deaths entertaining while still giving Willa’s more vulnerable moments the weight they needed.
