The Moriarty Murders

I may not be completely sold on this series just yet, but Abigail Wren has my attention, and I’m absolutely sticking around to see what she does next!

“The Moriarty Murders” introduces us to investigative journalist Abigail Wren, who suddenly finds herself navigating life as an heir to Moriarty & Co. While this first installment didn’t completely pull me in, I found myself becoming increasingly invested in Abigail and her journey.

Watching her find her footing as a Moriarty was easily my favorite part. She may have started out a little unsure of herself, but by the end? GIRL HAD IT. And now I need to know just how far she’ll go once she fully embraces her new role.

Heather Long’s narration was enjoyable and easy to follow. I’ll admit, the opening had me a little nervous that we’d be following a male POV with a female narrator, but it turns out we just needed a little backstory before getting to Abigail. Once we settled into her story, the narration worked nicely.

This was a solid introduction to a series with plenty of room to grow, and I’m definitely interested in continuing!

Side note: THREE of my recent reads have featured a character named Wren.
