Campers & Criminals (Books 4-6)
By Tonya Kappes
Christmas, Criminals, and Campers ⭐⭐⭐✨
I enjoyed seeing a little of Mae’s jealous side when it came to Hank, it added something new to her usually confident character. Nadine was so unlikeable that I honestly didn’t mind how things turned out. This one had more layers than some of the others, with lots of twists and turns to keep up with.
Motorhomes, Maps, & Murder ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨
The Civil War reenactment setting made this one especially entertaining and added a unique element to the town of Normal. I loved that Betts played a bigger role, I’ve been wanting more of her. Mae also got a bit of a taste of her own medicine with Hank keeping their relationship quiet, and honestly … she needed that. This might be my favorite in the series so far. And Mae, fix your cameras already.
Canyons, Caravans, & Cadavers ⭐⭐⭐⭐
I’m not convinced teaching is a natural fit for Mae long-term, so I hope that’s not a permanent direction. I did love seeing the town rally around her by giving her a key to the city. I finished this one with a few lingering questions, but I’m hoping that just means we’ll see some of these characters again. Hank’s family … Ughhh (Agnes excluded, of course).
