The Last Book Club

Ok … this was really good.
I actually sped up the audiobook because I needed to know what happened next faster.
The prologue completely hooked me, and then about 38 chapters later, I realized it definitely was not what it originally seemed.
No spoilers, but wow, do I want to share some.
I loved the multiple perspectives and dual timelines throughout the story. Best of all, I was never confused about what was happening, who it was happening to, or when it was happening. Everything was written very clearly, which is not always easy to pull off in a thriller with this many moving pieces. I’m happy to report I never got lost.
Michelle Price was a fantastic narrator and absolutely elevated the experience for me. I’ll definitely be looking into more of her work.
The mystery itself had so many possible directions as Jordan tries to uncover who murdered her foster sister. I questioned everyone and came up with a million different theories while listening, which is exactly what I want from a mystery/thriller.
I still have some questions about Tara’s character, specifically regarding her relationship with Luke, but they didn’t negatively affect the story or my enjoyment of it.
And honestly? Everyone deserves a Jordan in their corner. Someone willing to go to the ends of the earth for the people they love.
Also … I need a book club. Anyone in Vegas want to start one with me?! 😂
Thank you to NetGalley, Joanne Rock, and Tantor Media for this ARC in exchange for an honest review!
