First and foremost, I need to give some appreciation to “The Sherwood Witches” series as a whole because these three books are woven together SO flawlessly.

Each book spotlights a different Sherwood sister, and while every romance is uniquely their own, they’re all tangled up in the same bigger problem: getting the Liber Umbrarum, an ancient spellbook, to safety and keeping it out of the wrong hands. Each sister has a role to play in fixing the magical mess… and, naturally, each manages to fall in love along the way.

But Effie? Effie wins for me. 😂

I loved all three sisters for different reasons, but “Hexy Beast” was definitely my favorite of the series. I mean, Effie’s love interest is a wolf shifter, which by definition is HOT. Darius and Effie are pure chaos together, with absolutely no regard for composure and chemistry that practically jumps off the page. Fated mates, indeed. 🐺🔥

I also really loved the way the wolf shifter mythology was handled. Darius has spent years essentially caging his wolf because he believes that’s what he needs to do to be an effective leader. Meanwhile, Effie has had the shifter gene all along, just sitting dormant and waiting for the right moment to make itself known. Their relationship isn’t just about falling for each other. There’s this whole element of embracing the parts of themselves they’ve kept restrained, and I loved that.

And then there was the council. 😂 The boys. Yes, BOYS. The second they started revealing the names they’d given themselves, I was cackling. Easily one of my favorite scenes.

Some series are easy to spread out over several months, but I definitely recommend binging “The Sherwood Witches.” There are so many overlapping pieces between the sisters’ stories that reading them close together makes the way everything intertwines even more satisfying.

Scott Rose and Kelli Tager were such a fun pairing for “Hexy Beast!” They captured the chaos, chemistry, humor, and HEAT between Darius and Effie perfectly. Scott especially brought some serious growly wolf-shifter energy to Darius. 🐺🔥 Definitely a duo that made an already fun story even better!

Magic, sisterhood, fated mates, wolf shifters, ancient spellbooks, ridiculous councils, and plenty of heat? Yep. This series was FUN. 🧙‍♀️🐺✨
