“Not Home Alone” is over-the-top, ridiculous holiday rom-com fun, and I loved every second of it.
I feel like this book should be getting SO MUCH MORE LOVE! Is it a thought-provoking, life-altering novel setting out to change the world? Nope. What it IS is pure feel-good holiday vibes, romantic charm, and absolute silliness in the best possible way.
Everything is delightfully over-the-top, from the banter and wardrobe to the “Home Alone” house and, of course, “The Notcracker.” 😂 Merrily and Moody find their way back to each other after years of hatred, only to land themselves in a fake-dating situation. And naturally, things get complicated.
My favorite scene was when they decided to fake date and had to figure out the story of how they supposedly found their way back to each other. COMEDY GOLD. And “The Notcracker”?! OMG. So ridiculous. So much fun.
Max Meyers and Victoria Connolly absolutely elevated the comedy. Their performances leaned into the absurdity, banter, and personalities perfectly, and I loved that even the spicy scenes had humor woven into them.
This book was simply FUN, and I’m so glad I gave it a listen. If you want a holiday romance that embraces the ridiculous and delivers all the festive feel-good vibes, add this one to your list!
