This Weekend Doesn’t End Well For Anyone

This Weekend Doesn’t End Well For Anyone
By Catherine Mack
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Yet another book where I honestly would have benefited from a bulletin board, push pins, and string.

There is so much happening in this story, and listening at 1.25x speed probably didn’t do me any favors.

I don’t typically gravitate toward complete chaos or a million moving pieces, but this one completely consumed me, and in the best way. I clung to my own theory for most of the book (and was very wrong), fully expecting all the twists to circle back to it.

The ending was honestly masterful.

I do wish I had read the earlier books in the series first. I think having that background would have made the character dynamics hit even harder.

I’m still undecided on the fourth wall breaks (when the author speaks directly to the reader). It’s not something I usually love, but it’s clearly part of Mack’s creative style—and she is incredibly creative. I’ll definitely be picking up more from her.

And narrator Elizabeth Evans? Absolute queen. The narration was flawless from start to finish.

Thank you NetGalley and Catherine Mack for an ARC of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
