Spies, Lies, & Alibis
By Natalie Walters
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was such an unexpected and enjoyable listen.
It’s categorized as romance, but this is a very slow burn—more longing and angst than anything overtly romantic. The spy storyline really takes center stage.
The story itself was fun and fast-paced, exactly what I look for in a book like this.
The narration was top-notch overall. My only critique is that when Andrew Eiden voices Cybil, it feels a little cringeworthy at times.
There are quite a few supporting characters, but the dual POV structure (Cybil and Ben) made it much easier to follow who was aligned with whom and who might not be.
I often discover books through narrators, and Dominique Salvacion is absolutely one I’ll be looking up again. Narrators can make or break an audiobook, and for me, she really delivered here.
Natalie Walters’ writing translates really well to audio, and I’m definitely interested in checking out more of her work. Also, worth giving her a follow on Instagram. She’s genuinely entertaining.
Thank you to Netgalley, Thomas Nelson Fiction, and Natalie Walters for an ARC of this novel in exchange for an honest review.
