Her Silence

OMG – what a ride! I haven’t enjoyed a thriller this much in a while. And while this book absolutely kept me on the edge of my seat, my original prediction was technically correct (pats self on back)… just not for the reasons I thought.
This story hit me hard emotionally. Obviously, or maybe not obviously, I haven’t experienced anything nearly as horrifying as what these characters go through, but the emotional weight of it all felt very real to me. As a mom who feels like she’s constantly living under Murphy’s Law – where if something can go wrong, it absolutely will – I connected deeply with the desperation, fear, and determination woven throughout this story. Minus the whole “found nearly murdered in the woods and suddenly mute” part.
What really made this book stand out was how layered the family dynamics felt. I appreciated getting perspectives from Nicole, Lacey, and Dylan. Nicole’s determination to protect her daughter at all costs was powerful, Lacey’s trauma was heartbreaking, and Dylan’s role in Act Two added an entirely different emotional dimension to the story. Act One centers heavily around the murder investigation and Nicole trying to prove Lacey’s innocence, while Act Two shifts into the fallout and the devastating ripple effects on the family, focusing primarily on Dylan.
I don’t want to spoil anything because this is absolutely a “go in blind” kind of thriller, but if you love emotionally charged domestic suspense, complicated family dynamics, and twists that keep you questioning everything until the very end, pick this one up immediately.
