The second I finished the first in the Total Chaos series, I immediately preordered this audiobook. And while this one had a very different vibe from book one, because of the main characters’ very different personalities, it was such a fun addition to the series. Honestly? I may have enjoyed this romance even more. Only because Zav was such a walking red flag, book 1 seemed to lean more into the ridiculousness of his behaviors and their lust and less the development of true feelings.

Watching Valen learn how to function in the human world was hilarious, and thank goodness Ava was there to guide him because if Zav had been fully responsible for his 21st-century education, it would have been an absolute disaster.

Valen and Ava really gave each other what they needed emotionally, even when neither of them fully realized it. That fated mate bond was definitely doing its thing. Both characters underwent significant growth and self-discovery throughout the story, which made the romance feel earned and believable. But that escapade at mom and dad’s house… maybe they should have waited until they were alone at their apartment.

And then there’s Zav. While I definitely missed Teddy Hamilton’s narration from book one, Zav’s chaotic personality and walking-red-flag energy still completely shined through. He brought so much comic relief and honestly felt like the annoying little brother-cousin (IYKYK) chaos gremlin of the group. Celine deserves an award for putting up with him long enough to fall in love, but it’s also obvious they were meant to be.

The narration was absolutely on point. Alexa Elmy and Alex Kydd were both new-to-me narrators, and I instantly became a fan. Kydd fully embraced the vampire/fallen angel energy, while Elmy had the perfect warm, girl-next-door vibe for Ava. They balanced each other perfectly.

My only real question now is: how soon can I get my hands on the next audiobook?!?!
