This holiday romance is a short, spicy read featuring a grumpy x sunshine dynamic.

I do wish the story had leaned further into Jonah’s “sunshine” personality. Outside of his love for Christmas and festive holiday sweaters, that side of him never fully came to life for me. Sloan, on the other hand, felt much more layered, and I enjoyed seeing the different sides of her character throughout the story.

Autumn Mercer continues to be one of those narrators whose voice immediately stands out to me. So many narrators have a similar tone, but there’s something about her performance that always draws me in.

I found myself wanting just a little more from the story overall, but as a quick holiday romance, it was a fun palate cleanser between all of the psychological thrillers I’ve been reading.
