I had so much fun listening to this one, it reminded me so much of an episode of True Blood. Specifically Season 4, Episode 3 “If You Love Me, Why Am I Dyin” where Eric Northman loses his memory and in his more innocent state, Sookie falls for him. This book was like reading an extended episode of that, but with way more humor. Funny enough… the witch in that episode’s name is Marley too.

I loved everything about the narration as well – Halsten’s Swedish Vampire accent had me cackling.

The character dynamics and the creativity in the writing was just such a unique experience – “Phone” as her familiar?!?! Perfection.

Imma need to read ALL of Stein’s other books in the Sanctuary for Supernatural Creatures stat.

This book had everything I was looking for – Legit laugh out loud humor, passion and romance, a mystery to solve, and a bit of magic. I was pleasantly surprised.
