A house that stress-eats, lol. I used to think a walrus was my spirit animal, but maybe a house that eats the dead is my spirit sentient being???

I’m on such an amazing book run right now – another 5-star read!

This book has such a unique premise, and the author does it complete justice. A house that eats the dead – and not just dead bodies, things like cardboard boxes and veggies. Has me wondering how an earthy/naturalist mom would have fared here, in a world where technology and plastics were safe, but organic materials were fed to the house to keep it happy.

It’s hard to write this without giving anything away, but the house reminds me of a loyal dog. And the evil beings that seek it out as predators, wanting nothing more than to take advantage of the house’s unique set of skills.

Overall, LOVED this book. Can’t wait to read more from Doty.
